KDPiFAQ - Knowledge management for the iSeries and AS400

KDPiFAQ has been initially written in RPG 400 and its purpose is to maintain a database of Questions and Answers. Initially a green screen version is available for Free Download. This will be the basis for a Java Application and a version which will run on Tomcat and WebSphere application servers.

Question Entry

Allows "users" to enter questions by pre defined category. Anybody else not set up in the security database will only be allowed read access.

Answer Entry

Trusted Authors answer questions posted and set as published, all questions entered.

Security

KDPiFAQ has been built with four levels of authority - these are :

• Administrator - shipped as QSECOFR has all access to the software
• Trusted author - has the ability to publish questions and answers
• Author - somebody that is allowed to write answers, these can only be published by a trusted author
• User - somebody that has view capability and can ask questions
• The rest - can only view the questions and answers database

Search By Keyword

When a user enters a search word the system stores this for later selection - when prompted for the keywords are listed in order of popularity.

KDPiFAQ is available as a free download from this site. After downloading please click the registration link on the left. After you have registered you will be sent an e-mail containg a license key that must be applied. The registration will required then entry of a valid iSeries serial number, this is required. Instructions for installing KDPiFAQ and applying the license key are included in a getting started file in the download.
